The District Prosecutor's Office in Burgas has charged 15-year-old Omar from Syria, who drove the bus with migrants, that yesterday hit a police car and killed two policemen on the spot, for deliberately causing an accident and for embezzlement. Since the accused is a minor, the maximum penalty provided by law is up to 10 years in prison.

Two more Syrians are accused in the case - for illegally assisting 47 Syrian citizens without identity documents for their residence and passage through the country. Evidence is still being collected for another Syrian and a Bulgarian who were also arrested.

At a mourning ceremony in memory of the policemen, President Rumen Radev said that their death was a consequence of long-tolerated impunity of those who organize and protect the illegal trafficking of migrants.
