As of today, gendarmerie will be guarding of the flood-affected villages in Karlovo region, after increased cases of looting were reported.
Soldiers with heavy machinery continue to help the affected communities. The three worst-hit villages - Slatina, Bogdan and Karavelovo - are still without drinking water, as temporary water supply lines are being built.
Meanwhile, a second committee, headed by Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, is inspecting the area above the village of Slatina, looking for evidence of illegal logging. "This time, the state will do its utmost for the citizens as compared to all the other disasters that have been experienced so far," the minister said, referring to people's expectations for help in repairing their damage.
