Health Minister: School year starts without masks and Covid tests

There will be no masks and Covid tests for schoolchildren, as the school year begins on September the 15, Interim Health Minister Assen Medjidiev assured. He told television channel bTV that Bulgarian pupils will be having "a completely normal school attendance process", and the pandemic measures will be limited to ventilating the premises and observing distance and personal hygiene.

Further action will be taken only in the case of an infected student and only in the class in which the sick student attends. The minister also announced that as of Monday, people will be able to receive a booster dose of the adapted iRNA coronavirus vaccine

"We are absolutely ready for a new wave of covid-19, at the moment the load on the hospital system is very small," Assen Medjidiev said.
