Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics team are among the favorites for medals in World Championships in Sofia

Competitors from 62 countries will take part in the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship, opening today in Sofia. The Bulgarians Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliyana Nikolova and the ensemble consisting of Zhenina Trashlieva, Rachel Stoyanov, Sofia Ivanova, Margarita Vasileva, Kamelia Petrova and Radina Tomova have chances to win gold in a competition with a total of 85 participants in the individual competition and 30 ensembles.

The teams of Russia and Belarus will not participate in the championships, which are the first qualification for the Olympics in Paris in 2024.

The World Championships in Sofia will take place under the motto "The Colors of Rhythm" as the goal is presenting Bulgarian folklore.
