Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev will attend the ceremonial opening of the new school year at the Sofia-based 43rd Hristo Smirnenski Primary School. He will greet students, teachers and parents during the festive event in the school yard.

Together with the school principal Snezhina Georgieva, the Bulgarian head of state will open a bas-relief of the poet, whose name the educational institution bears.

The monument to Hristo Smirnenski was found by chance, thrown next to garbage cans and subsequently restored with funds collected by the school community and with the support of the house-museum of the same name.
