Commercial quantities of natural gas will start flowing through the Bulgaria-Greece gas interconnector on 1 October, caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said. Minister Hristov added that the gas interconnector is being tested and everything is going according to plan.

Thus, Bulgaria will receive the full quantity of 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Azerbaijan, as contracted, and the gas will be supplied evenly throughout the 12 months, said Minister Hristov. He was adamant that Bulgaria’s energy system is in good shape - all repairs have been done and no disruptions are expected during the winter. "I am absolutely sure that no power outages are expected", Minister Rosen Hristov said.
