“Bulgaria is ready for a possible rise in the number of Covid-19 cases, the system has been provided with medication, the number of intensive-care beds has not been changed,” caretaker Minister of Health Assen Medzhidiev stated during a visit to Dobrich where the renovated ER of the general hospital opened doors. Minister Medzhidiev pointed out further that even if the number of infections does go up the severity of the disease will not be the same as with previous waves.

“The elections will take place with a minimum of Covid-19 restrictions,” Minister Medzhidiev said. “No prohibitions or restrictions are necessary. Most are recommended,” he said. The same holds good of educational establishments – there are no plans to close them, all restrictive measures are recommended.
