In view of the situation in Bulgaria and in the world, major fluctuations are possible at Sunday’s election for parliament, a social survey conducted a few days before the election shows.

Around and under 2.6 million people are expected to cast their votes, or around 39% of the voters on the electoral roll, with a negligible percentage expected to choose the option not to support any of the candidates.

The data are from a national representative survey by Gallup International Balkan polling agency, commissioned by the Bulgarian National Radio and conducted from 20 to 27 September, 2022, among 1,009 Bulgarians over the age of 18 by direct “face to face” interview.

According to the survey, if the election had taken place in the last 10 days of September, GERB-SDS would have earned 25.8% of the votes for parties, coalitions or independent candidates, We Continue the Change -  16.6%, followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and Vazrazhdane with 13.2% and 12.8% respectively. The Bulgarian Socialist Party comes next with 9.2% and Democratic Bulgaria with 7.8%, followed by two parties which only just clear the 4% electoral threshold -  There Is Such a People with 4.2% and Bulgarian Rise with 4%. Stand Up, Bulgaria and VMRO are below the electoral threshold with 1.9% and 1.2% respectively. Other formations below the threshold could also score tangible results.

This is indicated by a Gallup International Balkan survey, commissioned by the Bulgarian National Radio and conducted from 20 to 27 September among 1,009 Bulgarians over the age of 18.
