The 12th edition of the Sofia Science Festival is to take place on 8 and 9 October, 2022, at Sofia Tech Park with the participation of leading scientists from Bulgaria and abroad. This year’s edition of the festival features discussions, demonstrations and hands-on workshops.

Visitors will be able to garner first-hand knowledge of the latest discoveries in various scientific fields – from the remote study of the Earth and what climate change looks like from space, to artificial intelligence, to following in the footsteps of National Geographic’s global change ecologist Gergana Daskalova from the Arctic to the deserted Bulgarian villages, to studying the language of animals with Katerina Zareva, heads of the environmental science and educational centre of the Sofia Zoo. Prof. Franz Renz from the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry at Leibniz University in Hannover, a participant in NASA’s Mars exploration rover mission, will show the stunning green-blue sunsets over the red hills of the red planet.

The science festival also features a string of events targeted at school-goers and the young generation fascinated by science.
