A host of footballing superstars and coach Jose Mourinho are expected to feature at a match organised by Pope Francis' foundation

Hristo Stoichkov will be playing in the Peace Match in memory of Diego Maradona 

A special friendly game will take place in Rome to pay tribute to the late great Argentinian legend

Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoichkov has confirmed his participation in the Peace Match to be played in Rome on 14 November in memory of Diego Maradona. 

Stoichkov will play for the World Team alongside Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Gianluigi Buffon, Claudio Caniggia, Luis Suarez and Ciro Ferrara. The team will be coached by José Mourinho. The match will be 6 days before the opening of the World Cup in Qatar. The match is organised by WePlayForPeace, a foundation set up by Pope Francis, who also happens to be Argentinian, Get Football News France reported.

Stoichkov is 89th in the list of the greatest 100 players in the history of football, ranked by the renowned soccer magazine FourFourTwo. He is also the only Bulgarian on the list. Lionel Messi tops the list, followed by Diego Maradona and Cristiano Ronaldo.
