By mid-December, the Bulgarian expedition to Antarctica will sail with the first Bulgarian military scientific research ship "St. St. Cyril and Methodius". On board will be polar explorers from the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute and the crew of the Nikola Vaptsarov Higher Naval School in Varna, who will reach the Bulgarian base "St. Kliment Ohridski" on Livingston Island.

Until then, 3-4 voyages in the Black Sea are planned to check the readiness of the ship.

So far, Bulgarian Antarctic explorers have organized 30 successful expeditions of their own, but this time they will reach the Ice Continent for the first time with a Bulgarian ship.
