In the beginning of October, the Gewandhaus Orchestra’s Concertmaster Vesko Eschkenazy, accordionist Veronika Todorova and conductor George Miltiyadoff presented their first joint video. It is based on Dance of the River, an author’s piece by Veronika, part of the project named “In the World of Music”. Here is some background information:
“In the World of Music” is a project that was launched last year when our wonderful accordionist was a guest soloist at my anniversary concert. We perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach. We go through different periods of classical music and at the end we even perform remakes of pieces from the music repertoire of Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, etc. I am very grateful to the musicians from the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra for their support. I would also like to thank conductor George Miltiyadoff who made all arrangements for violin, accordion and symphonic orchestra. We presented the music programme in 10 Bulgarian towns. We have extended our summer tour and are to perform in the town of Silistra on October 19 and the town of Ruse on October 21. We managed to make a video to the wonderful piece Dance on the River, again with the support of the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra. We decided to shoot the video in one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in the country- the village of Debnevo located in the Troyan Balkan Mountains.”
George Miltiyadoff plays the piano in the video. The music which combines jazz with Bulgarian tunes and rhythms brings a lot of joy and positive emotions.
