President Radev again urges MPs to do their duty by the citizens

Talking to reporters, President Rumen Radev stated in Brussels that he expects the members of parliament to do their duty by the citizens of Bulgaria and the country and construct a parliament.

In the words of the president, there are a great many problems that need to be addressed, among them important bills, as well as the functioning of a number of public authorities which have been working without being properly staffed, or after their term of office has expired, such as the Supreme Judicial Council, the Constitutional Court and the Bulgarian National Bank.

“If we keep going like this the country will be entirely blocked,” Rumen Radev said, and added that he can only hand over a mandate for the formation of a government once there are structured parliamentary groups.

President Radev stressed further that the caretaker government will make efforts so that household consumers shall not have to switch to the free electricity market, adding he hoped the next regular government would also make efforts in that direction.

Rumen Radev is in Brussels to take part in the European Council at which he is representing Bulgaria.
