Around 700 children from all over Bulgaria will take part in the 7th edition of the folklore festival Misionis sings and dances in Turgovishte.

The event is taking place on two consecutive days – 29 and 30 October. The jury and the audiences will be able to watch and listen to over 240 different performances. “Every year we see more and more performers take part. As there is so much interest, next year we shall make it a three-day event,” Stamen Stamenov, organizer of the festival told the Bulgarian news agency BTA.

The aim of the festival is to popularize Bulgarian folklore, enrich song and dance art and help children improve their performing skills, the organizers say.
