The Ambassador of Bulgaria to the United States, Georgi Panayotov, offered congratulations and asked critical questions in the social media after the decision of Bulgaria’s National Assembly to approve the purchase of 8 more F-16 fighter aircraft. Georgi Panayotov, who also served as a caretaker Minister of Defense, noted that the Parliament’s decision will enable the Bulgarian Air Force to have a full squadron of F-16 fighter jets.

"With half a squadron, our fighter aircraft would look like a lame duck," Ambassador Panayotov wrote in the social networks. "Why the right things happen in our country with a huge delay and so difficult?", Georgi Panayotov asked. According to the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the United States, half a squadron is like a half-hearted reform or modernization.
