Bulgaria has applied to host the 29th UN Climate Conference in 2024. President Rumen Radev presented the country's candidacy during his participation in the Climate Summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

"Bulgaria has excellent conditions for the production of solar energy and energy from the wind in the region of the Black Sea, as well as traditions in nuclear energy, which must be further developed," Radev said.

The President pointed out that Bulgaria should make the most of its network of hydrotechnical facilities, which is one of the most developed in Europe, in order to produce and store energy in pumped storage hydroelectric plants.
