AEJ organizes a conference in Sofia

Journalism aces to discuss fake news and misinformation in the coverage of the war in Ukraine

‘War in Ukraine: The New Frontlines" conference brings together renowned journalist from all over the world

A conference entitled ‘War in Ukraine: The New Frontlines,’  will be held today in Sofia.  Organized by The Association of European Journalists, it will bring to Bulgaria's capital city a number of renowned journalists to share their first-hand account on how the conflict is affecting journalism in Ukraine, Russia, and beyond.

Participants will discuss topics such as:  How do newsrooms verify information and deal with conspiracy theories during an ongoing conflict? How does war-related misinformation shape public opinion about the war? How does the conflict affect independent media in Russia, where journalists face up to five years in prison if they use the term "war"?
