Cabinet-forming mandate discussions continue

GERB leader Boyko Borisov told bTV that his party was ready with the composition of a possible new cabinet, in which he would not be a prime minister. But this cabinet would not be sustainable. According to him, the best chance of forming a government with the third mandate is if it is handed over to the "Bulgarian Rise" party.

Borissov's statement caused violent reactions in parliament. The leader of "Bulgarian Rise" Stefan Yanev expressed readiness to hold talks with all forces in the parliament and did not rule out the possibility of being appointed as a compromise figure for prime minister. However, he urged before discussing such options that the political forces focus on the possibilities of forming a cabinet with the first and second cabinet-forming mandates.
"Democratic Bulgaria" is skeptical about the potential for a government with the mandate of "Bulgarian Rise" because it hides many unknowns. Earlier today, at a meeting to discuss the 2023 budget, "Democratic Bulgaria" invited "We Continue the Change" to start talks on a government with the second mandate.
The BSP were positive that they would not support a cabinet with the mandate of GERB, but would support a government of "We Continue the Change" with the second mandate. From "We Continue the Change" said they would not support a third mandate if GERB participates in the cabinet.
