Vice President Iliana Iotova: Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia should unite efforts to join Schengen

The number of eurosceptics in Bulgaria will increase if the country does not join the Schengen Area in December, Vice President Iliana Iotova said. "Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia should unite their diplomatic efforts and fight this battle for Schengen", Iliana Iotova said. 

Vice President Iotova stressed that Bulgaria had already met the Schengen requirements in 2011. In her words, even then Bulgaria allowed the technical criteria to be superseded by political criteria.
