November 17-20, the Regional Centre for Contemporary Art "Topocentral" in Sofia will host an unconventional theatre event - "European Playback Theatre Festival Sofia 2022". All performances are in English.

Playback theatre is improvisational theatre based on the personal stories of the people in the audience. The music is live improvisation. This genre has structure, form and rhythm, but no script. Actors use their ability to listen, to tune in to the experiences of others, to creatively reenact the stories told. In general, Playback Theatre allows everyone to choose their role - whether to be a participant, a protagonist or a spectator.

The festival program includes opening and closing ceremonies, as well as a choice of 9 home groups, 18 workshops, 9 performances, music or Playback jam sessions. Theatrical troupes and actors from Bulgaria, Hungary, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland will participate. 27 trainers from all over the world and 9 Playback Theatre companies from 7 countries will be the heart of the event, organised by the Creators Association and Playback Theatre "Here and Now".
