Bulgaria failed to beat Luxembourg in a control match that ended 0:0. At the stadium in Luxembourg, the Bulgarians failed to achieve a fourth consecutive success under the leadership of coach Mladen Krastaich.

In the first half, Spas Delev put the ball into the Luxembourg net, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball. After the break the roles were reversed and the hosts were more active but also rougher in the pouring rain. Although with a player less, they even hit the crossbar in the Bulgarian goal.

The next match of the Bulgarians is against Montenegro on March 24, 2023 in the first qualifying match for Euro 2024.
