As of January 1, 2023, "Lukoil Neftohim Burgas" will transfer its entire economic activity to Bulgaria, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Transport and Communications Hristo Alexiev said at a press conference after talks with the company's management.

According to him, this means that all production, all revenues and taxes will be paid in Bulgaria and not in the Netherlands and Switzerland, as was the case until now.

Alexiev explained that the estimates show that after the implementation of the regulation on the taxation of excess profits, the revenues to the state budget this year will be about 51 million euros from Lukoil and next year - about 358 million euros. The additional tax revenues will be distributed to compensate socially vulnerable groups in Bulgaria.
