Bulgarian Rise: The important thing now is to form a cabinet, snap elections will not solve any problems

“It has been a month now since the start of the consultations. I gave the political parties represented in parliament enough time to find a way out of the confrontation and to attain a rational consensus on the formation of a cabinet. But instead of addressing the problems that concern the citizens of Bulgaria, parliament decided to tackle the Election Code.” With these words President Rumen Radev opened the last of the consultations on the formation of a government with the political forces represented in parliament – with Bulgarian Rise – before handing the first government-forming mandate.

“The important thing now is to form a majority that will support a cabinet. Early elections will not solve any of the problems that concern citizens and society,” said the leader of Bulgarian Rise Stefan Yanev, and added that his party was ready to discuss the issue with all formations represented in parliament. In his words, the coalition that will possibly form a cabinet must be founded on a coalition agreement of clear rules and priorities.
