The biggest ice rink in the Balkans has welcomed its first visitors on December 1. It is located in the Knyazheskata Garden in central Sofia and was built on the model of the ice rink in front of the local administration building in Vienna

The project has been financed by Sofia Municipality, with the park covering an area of 7,000 square meters and an ice area of 3,600 square meters.

500 m long ice alleys have also been built, and along their entire length there are lighted frames, creating a festive mood.

A colorful Christmas bazaar is organized around the Ice Park, so that this popular space in the heart of Sofia can resemble a real winter fairy tale.

"Our idea is to attract more young people to the practice of winter sports in an urban environment", commented the chairman of the Sofia Municipal Council, Georgi Georgiev.
