“The caretaker government has done a colossal amount of work so that the country may meet the membership criteria,” caretaker PM Galab Donev said in an interview with bTV, and added he does not accept the criticism coming from some political forces that the caretaker cabinet has not done its job. According to Galab Donev, the current government has drafted new bills and measures which have been submitted to the National Assembly, and he expects parliament to approve them.

The fact that Bulgaria was refused the go-ahead for the Schengen area does not mean we have failed, the caretaker PM went on to say and added that the government has made every effort for the country’s entry into Schengen.

As to the first mandate for the formation of a government, Galab Donev stated that Bulgaria needs an expert government.

The nominee for prime minister Prof. Nikolay Gabrovski is a man of principle, and if he puts together a cabinet of experts who abide by ethical norms, he would be successful as premier, Galab Donev stated.
