Survey: Euro-Atlantic orientation of Bulgarians remains firm

Photo: archive

The Euro-Atlantic orientation of Bulgarians is firm, but the approval rating of politicians, MPs and political parties is decreasing, a national survey conducted by Exacta Research Group shows.

71% of respondents support Bulgaria's EU membership and only 22% are against. Most of the people who are against the country's EU membership are supporters of "Vazrazhdane" and the Bulgarian Socialist Party.

57% of Bulgarians approve of the country's NATO membership and 31% are against.

One third of the respondents believe that people abstain from voting, because they are disappointed, disillusioned and tired of elections. 20% of the polled say that there is a strong intolerance towards the political elite which demotivates people to vote.
