Malyovitsa winter resort in the Rila mountain welcomes its guests with a renovated Learning Centre and Mountaineering Museum, which is arranged in three thematic sections, we learn from the online edition bgtourism.
The first section is dedicated to the history and life of the Central Alpine Camp, especially in its early years, as 2022 is the anniversary year for the local mountaineering school. A special section in the museum is dedicated to the "mountaineer of the century" Hristo Prodanov, who was patron of the school from 10 April 1985 to 1 January 1992.
Visitors can also learn about some of the most important achievements of Bulgarian mountaineering, mainly from its early period (until 1984 when Prodanov conquered Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen ).
