Derailment disrupts train schedule at Sofia Central Station

An accident occurred at Sofia Central Station early on Monday morning as the third car of a train arriving from Burgas derailed and hit an electric pole. There were no injured passengers or staff, Eng. Boycho Skrobanski, deputy chairman of the National Board for the Investigation of Transport Accidents, told the BNR.

The damages were not big. Traffic is limited but not completely stopped. The delays vary between 7 and 167 minutes, Skorbanski added. The biggest delays affect the trains coming through the Iskar Gorge, the sub-Balkan line and those from Svilengrad.
