Adopt an Animal campaign in Burgas Zoo

The Burgas Zoo has launched another "Adopt an animal!" campaign. The zoo, which is self-supporting, is struggling due to the sharp increase in the cost of heating the animals' cages during the winter months. The campaign targets both companies and individuals, Darik Radio reports.

30% of the animals have already been adopted. Adopters are allowed to enter the cages and interact with the animals, zoo manager Veneta Dubova said. The Burgas zoo keeps more than 60 species of animals, including polar white wolves, platinum foxes and kangaroos. It also houses the largest collection of peacocks in Europe - about 320 peacocks.
