Prosecutor's Office: Border police officer Petar Bachvarov was killed by cattle thieves

The suspects detained for the murder of Bulgarian border policeman Petar Bachvarov near Elhovo were near the border to steal cattle. This was what the Turkish prosecutor's office reported, district prosecutor of Yambol, Doychin Doichev said. It was revealed that the murder was committed with a hunting weapon. The investigation into the shooting is nearing its end, Doychev said.

The 32-year-old policeman was killed in November while patrolling the barrier facility on the Bulgarian-Turkish border. Two brothers, Turkish citizens, were arrested for the shooting, as one is in custody.
