Surva festival visits Sofia

For the second consecutive year, more than 200 mummers, mask makers and folk dance ensemble "Horo" from the festival "Surva" are visiting Sofia. A culinary exhibition is also part of the event which takes place in Borisova Gradina (Boris’ Garden). The event is included in the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality.

The international festival of masquerade games "Surva" is held every year in the town of Pernik. It has been organized since 1966. It is the oldest festival of the masquerade games in Bulgaria and is the largest masquerade forum in the Balkans. In 2015, "Surva" was listed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
