Saudis interested in investing in Bulgaria

Saudi Arabia would like to invest in a joint venture in the dairy industry in Bulgaria. The milk will be processed in Bulgaria and the products will be exported to the Gulf. The idea was discussed at a meeting between Economy Minister Nikola Stoyanov and managers of one of the largest food companies in Saudi Arabia. The meeting was also attended by the president of the state-owned company LB Bulgaricum.
Currently, the Saudi company runs a farm with 190,000 cows - as many as are bred throughout Bulgaria. The project is expected to be implemented at a later stage. The Saudis are also interested in building an airport for cargo planes in the southwestern village of Uzundzhovo.
