Next week Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekanov will start talks with representatives of the European Commission regarding the procedure for renegotiation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan in the energy sector, caretaker Premier Galab Donev told journalists.

Yesterday, the country’s National Assembly voted a decision obliging the government to change the National Recovery Plan that would allow the coal-fired power stations in the Maritsa East basin to continue operating.  According to Prime Minister Donev, the whole process would take time and the deadline set by the Parliament (March 31, 2023) may hinder its implementation.
