Vezhdi Rashidov has a private audience with pope Francis

National Assembly Chair Vezhdi Rashidov was received for a personal meeting by His Holiness Pope Francis in the Vatican. The meeting took place in the last day of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. 


Vezhdi Rashidov extended to Pope Francis the greetings and respect of the Bulgarian people. For his part, the pontiff blessed Vezhdi Rashidov and the Bulgarian people and wished them to be united in their work and prayers for peace and prosperity, the National Assembly press service said. The Speaker of Parliament presented His Holiness Pope Francis with a replica of a vessel from the Valchitran gold treasure as a gift.
