Europe is preparing the international tribunal for Russia's crimes against Ukraine

The European Union has information on 65,000 incidents in Ukraine that could turn out to be war crimes, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders announced after the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Stockholm, which discussed the creation of an international tribunal for Russia's crimes in the war with Ukraine.

"We have the largest number of documented war crimes ever, including the crime of aggression." As the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg ruled in 1946, war of aggression is the greatest international crime," emphasized the European Commissioner. He recalled that Ukraine, together with several member countries and with the support of the EU agency for cooperation in the field of criminal justice EUROJUST, created joint investigative teams at the beginning of the war. Reynders allowed that the tribunal could be in a hybrid format – established in Ukraine and with international representation.

The United States will send Ukraine a modified version of the Abrams tanks, which, however, lacks the secret uranium armour, possibly due to concerns that it could fall into Russian hands, the Daily Telegraph wrote. The US administration plans for these to be 31 combat vehicles in their more advanced configuration, but without the armored protection that makes them so deadly.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said in an interview with a Canadian TV channel that his country would send Ukraine 60 more tanks in addition to the 14 German "Leopard 2". Half a year ago, Warsaw provided 250 tanks to its eastern neighbour and demanded that Germany do the same with its "Leopard 2" - a request that Berlin announced days ago that it would fulfill. "A total of 321 heavy tanks have been promised to Ukraine by several countries," said Ukrainian ambassador to France Vadym Omelchenko, quoted by Reuters.

Ukrainian forces continue to battle Russian troops, who are trying to break through the front lines before Kyiv receives the tanks promised by its Western allies. President Volodymyr Zelensky said heavy fighting was taking place for Ugledar, southwest of the regional capital of Donetsk, and for Bakhmut, in the northeast, which has already been largely destroyed. "The occupiers are not only attacking our positions - they are deliberately and methodically destroying the towns and villages around them," he added. Over the past 24 hours, at least 10 people have been killed in Russian artillery fire on settlements in Kherson, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, according to local authorities.
