Bulgaria and North Macedonia celebrate the 151st anniversary of the birth of Gotse Delchev - ideologist of the struggles for the liberation of Macedonia and Adrianople from Ottoman rule.

There is an increased police presence around the St. Spas Church in Skopje, where the Bulgarian revolutionary's remains were laid, to prevent clashes between Macedonians and Bulgarians.
In the words of caretaker Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev, about 100-150 Bulgarian citizens are expected to arrive in Skopje. "There are reports of Bulgarian citizens being stopped at the border, I don't know how systematic they are," said the minister, who is part of the Bulgarian delegation. He added that a ban list had been drawn up with the names of our compatriots, but it was not large. Macedonian President Stevo Pendarovski and  Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski are attending the celebrations.
"I strongly hope that next time we will lay flowers together at Gotse Delchev's grave," the Bulgarian Interior Minister said. He also said that he had proposed this today, but to no avail from the Macedonian side.
