Fire breaks out in protected area in the vicinity of Lake Vaya near Burgas

A fire has broken out in the region of Lake Vaya near Burgas which has spread to around 30 hectares of land.

The fire was reported at 12.37 PM. Upon arrival at the scene, the emergency team ascertained that the reed mace growing in the protected area had caught fire. According to the Fire Safety and Civil Protection regional service, three teams of firefighters from Burgas are currently on location. There is no danger to any towns or villages in the region. The area is marshy which means no fire engines can be used to extinguish the fire. There is heavy smoke in the area.
