In his speech at the extraordinary session of the UN General Assembly, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kodstadin Kodzhabashev reaffirmed Bulgaria's position that the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders must be preserved. Kodzhabashev said that Bulgaria will continue to provide help to people fleeing the war and expressed Bulgaria’s sympathy and respect to the Ukrainian people for their extraordinary courage and endurance.
Kostadin Kodzhabashev also pointed out Bulgaria’s support for Ukraine's efforts to achieve lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. On behalf of Bulgaria, the minister supported the draft resolution, which calls for the rapid achievement of lasting peace in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, in a document released by the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China called on all countries to show restraint, avoid fanning the flames of war and prevent the crisis from worsening or spiraling out of control. China also called for abandoning the Cold War mentality. The security of one country cannot be guaranteed at the expense of the security of other countries, and regional security cannot be guaranteed by expanding military blocs, the document also read. Kyiv called the document "a good sign" and called on China to be more active in its support for Ukraine.
