The construction of the concrete foundation of the new laboratory unit of the Bulgarian Antarctic base "St. Kliment Ohridski" on Livingston Island has been completed, the BTA reported.
The first steps were made during the previous Antarctic expedition. The new building was designed to self-clean from accumulating drifts. It will contain three laboratories, a day-use area with space for presentations, a library and other facilities.
