Founded in 1976 by Konstantin Markov and Alexander Petrunov, Tangra remains one of the most significant Bulgarian rock bands. One of its biggest hits "Bogatstvo/Wealth" is back in a new version. Borislav Mudolov-Kosatkata, who became the band's new lead singer in 2019, sings the new version of the song.
Composer Boris Karadimchev created the new version of the song in collaboration with poet Alexander Petrov. Several days ago, at the annual awards of the BNR TOP 20 (the music chart of the Bulgarian National Radio for Bulgarian pop and rock music), Alexander Petrov received an award for outstanding achievements and presence in the 2022 music life. Alexander Petrov also played an active role for the revival of "Tangra" band.
Alexander Petrov has more about the new versions of the band’s hits and the new lineup of "Tangra":
"Two years ago, we bid a final farewell to Kosio Markov. It was a great shock for us, because he was one of the most active band members. Stanley (the former lead singer of Tangra) started his own successful career. The current lineup is actually "Tangra"-3. We have some ideas for new songs and demos, but we decided to arrange some of the old music hits in a contemporary style and make them sound modern. Music is not only listened to, it's watched. It would be ridiculous if the current lineup goes to a TV studio and plays the vocals and music recorded 40 years ago - it's like driving a forty-year-old car. I'm very happy with the results. We have plans for the future. May we be healthy."
