On the day when the Bulgarian Exarchate celebrates 153 years since its establishment, His Eminence the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte has called on all Christians to further strengthen their personal and common prayer for peace in the world in the days of the Great Lent preceding Easter.

By extending his blessing to all Orthodox Christians who have started the period of fasting before Easter, Patriarch Neophyte urges them to show true Christian love, mercy and compassion for those in need.

"To fast with even more zeal, in the hope of seeing humanity live in peace and benevolence, thanks to its Creator and for glorifying His holy name," is also noted in the message of Patriarch Neophyte.
