The National Day of Bulgaria will be celebrated with the raising of Bulgaria's national flag at an emblematic place for New Yorkers - the bronze bull statue on Broadway, near Wall Street, in the first park in America - Bowling Green, informs the Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York. The event is on Saturday, March 4, at 11:30 a.m. local time.

The national anthems of Bulgaria and the United States will be played to mark the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The event will last about an hour and all guests will be invited to join in a traditional Bulgarian horo chain dance and brighten up the square with the colours and rhythms of Bulgaria.

The first such initiative in Bowling Green was on March 3, 2007.Photos Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York
