Report: Bulgaria is among the European countries with the highest concentration of media ownership

Bulgaria is among the European countries with the highest concentration of media ownership, reads a report of the Council of Europe Platform to Promote the Protection of Journalism and Safety of Journalists. The highest rates in Europe are observed in Turkiye - 82%, Albania - 70%, Poland - 67%, Hungary- 66% and Bulgaria - 66%, the BNR’s correspondent In Brussels Angelina Piskova reported.

Journalists in Bulgaria are increasingly being sued for defamation, with more and more such cases initiated at the request of politicians, the document further reads.
