Darina Yotova- Dara and Dobrin Vekilov-Doni, two different voices from two different generations, are teaming up for a cross-ocean tour of the United States and Canada. Their tour starts today (March 9) in New York. Singer, songwriter and music producer Doni came up with the idea for the music tour. He became popular in the 1990s with the bands Atlas and Medicus and the duo “Doni and Momchil”, and later developed a successful solo career. We first saw Doni and Dara together seven years ago in the music format "X Factor". Later, they worked together in other TV formats. The tour is expected to end on April 9 in Montreal, Canada.
Dara and Doni are to perform their greatest hits, as well as several duets created especially for the Bulgarian audience that will attend these concerts. Doni’s solo album "Emigrantski/Expatriate" (2022), which is inspired by his numerous concerts and encounters with immigrant communities around the world, is among his latest music projects. Doni authored the music and the lyrics to all ten songs. The arrangements are by composer and conductor Georgi Andreev who skillfully combines his knowledge of Bulgarian folklore with symphonic orchestrations. The first song of the album is also named “Exatriate”.
