The Bulgarian community in Australia continues to look for ways to preserve the Bulgarian radio hour on SBS despite the decision of the media to stop it in May.

On this occasion, an online discussion was held between media managers and Bulgarians from 5 Australian states.
"SBS Director of Audio and Language Content David Hua has explained that the Bulgarian community does not meet the criteria for broadcasting because it numbers 2,800 speakers of the language (far below the required 25,000), is well-integrated, has a good command of the English language, has a high income and has a small number of elderly audiences, Filli Ladgman, the programme's host and its executive producer, told BTA.

SBS has promised to review the proposal of the Bulgarian community to preserve the Bulgarian program at least online.
