Illegal migrants detained in Sofia in three separate cases

Police officers from Sofia detained 44 illegal migrants in the course of three operations, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports. 21 persons were found hidden in a house in the region of West Park, among them two children. The police stopped a van in the vicinity of Stochna Gara railway station transporting 14 men, allegedly Syrian citizens. The driver of the vehicle was arrested, according to initial information he is a citizen of Georgia. In the course of the third operation 9 persons residing in the country illegally, also from Syria, were found in an apartment in Sofia. Criminal investigations are ongoing on all three cases.
