Grain growers to protest at the border with Romania

Grain growers from across the country are organising a three-day national protest on 29, 30 and 31 March, organised by the National Association of Grain Growers.
The reasons for the protest are the uncontrolled import of grain from Ukraine, the low purchase prices and the impossibility to sell the Bulgarian production, which is piling up in warehouses, the chairman of the Vidin Union of Grain Producers, Zhechko Andreynski, told BNR-Vidin.
The protest will take place in Vidin, Ruse, Kardam and Silistra, which are border crossings with Romania and through which grain from Ukraine is transported. "Bulgaria and Romania are the most affected at the moment...," Andreynski said.
In the meantime, as part of the protest, farm machinery will be deployed on the highways, but without obstructing traffic.
