BSP will not support GERB government, a cabinet with We Continue the Change/DB – only after consultations within the party

“We wouldn’t support a GERB government, a government with We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria or any other political force – if we receive an offer to be part of a government, then we shall conduct consultations within the party, and whatever the party says,” Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Kornelyia Ninova said after consultations with President Rumen Radev.

According to the BSP, the important questions that parliament needs to resolve are: combating inflation, increasing incomes, the bills connected with the Recovery and Resilience Plan, the judicial reform, Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area. All this is only possible provided a budget has been approved, Kornelyia Ninova stated. The BSP will not accept any proposals for raising taxes, freezing incomes or depriving SMEs of economic incentives. The pressure for a 3% budget deficit so the country can enter the Eurozone immediately is unacceptable, the BSP says.
