The first Bulgarian Orthodox church in Africa, built with the help of the Bulgarian state and donations from Bulgarians, will be consecrated on May 13, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Pretoria announced.

"The host of the historic event is the Association of Bulgarians in South Africa. It is our great pleasure to announce that Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has accepted the invitation and will personally attend the consecration of the church. After the service, which will end at 11:00 a.m., the president and the clergy present will address the representatives of the Bulgarian community," the embassy added.
