A fortnight after that, in early June, the Queen of Roses and the runners-up will take part in the celebrations for the 120th edition of the Rose Festival in Kazanlak.  The beauty queens will be dressed in designer gowns by Zheni Zhivkova (Bulgarian designer and granddaughter of the late communist dictator Todor Zhivkov - ed.)

Carnival procession that passes through the whole city is the culmination of the Rose Festival. This year, the clubs of local Community Centres will parade in original costumes typical of the folklore of Kazanlak's twin towns from abroad.
